The winner of the US Open 2025 in women’s singles was finally decided in New York, where Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka faced off against American Amanda Anisimova in the final.

Aryna Sabalenka, representing a “neutral” status, entered the court at the “USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center” as the defending champion of the US Open. For 24-year-old Amanda Anisimova, this was her first appearance in a US Open final.

In the opening set, Sabalenka secured two games in a row, but Anisimova fought back to take the lead at 3-2. However, Sabalenka regained her momentum towards the end of the set, winning the last three games to take it 6-3.

During the second set, Anisimova sought to change the course of the match. She managed to level the score after 12 games at 6-6. In the tiebreak, Sabalenka proved dominant, clinching her second consecutive US Open title.

Four Ukrainian tennis players participated in the US Open: Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremska, and Yulia Starodubtseva. Unfortunately, Svitolina, Yastremska, and Starodubtseva were eliminated after the first round. Marta Kostyuk had a relatively successful tournament, reaching the fourth round, just one match away from the quarterfinals. She advanced through three rounds of the US Open but ultimately lost to Czech player Karolína Muchová in what was a record-setting fourth round for her.
