With a background as diverse as the projects he’s worked on, Ariel shares his journey in the film industry, his creative process, and his experiences working on international films.

Can you tell us about your background and how you got started in the film industry?

I’m originally from Israel and began my career in acting. After studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, I began producing and writing films across various countries, including the US, Mexico, Nigeria, Dubai, and Canada.

What inspired you to work internationally in the film industry?

I’ve always been fascinated by different cultures and storytelling traditions. Working internationally allows me to collaborate with diverse talents and bring unique perspectives to my projects.

With 131 awards, can you share insights on what makes a successful film?

A successful film resonates with audiences on an emotional level, regardless of language or cultural barriers. It’s crucial to tell a compelling story, create memorable characters, and evoke genuine emotions in the viewers.

As a judge at prestigious film festivals like the Sunset Film Festival and Hollywood Screenings Film Festival, what do you look for in a winning film?

When judging films, I look for originality, technical skill, and the ability to engage and captivate the audience. A winning film should push boundaries, challenge conventions, and leave a lasting impact on the viewer.

What advice do you have for aspiring filmmakers who want to enter the international film industry?

My advice is to always continue learning and honing your craft. Be open to collaboration and step out of your comfort zone to explore new ideas and perspectives. Persistence, passion, and a strong work ethic are key to success in the competitive world of filmmaking.

Can you share some memorable experiences from producing films in different countries?

Producing films in diverse locations has been an incredible journey. Each country has its unique challenges and opportunities. Still, one of the most rewarding aspects is collaborating with talented individuals from various cultural backgrounds. Every project has taught me valuable lessons and expanded my creative horizons, from navigating language barriers to adapting to different filming regulations.

How do you balance the creative aspects of filmmaking with the business side of production?

Balancing creativity with the business aspects of production is a delicate dance. While it’s essential to stay true to a film’s artistic vision, it’s equally important to understand the financial and logistical constraints. Collaborating with a team of professionals who share a common goal and vision is key to successfully navigating the complex landscape of the film industry.

What are some upcoming films that you can tell us about?

I’m currently working on several films that span different genres and themes. Each project is an opportunity to explore new ideas and push the boundaries of storytelling.
