Gina Drewalowski is redefining what visibility, influence, and success look like in the digital age. A former fashion executive with more than three decades of industry experience, she stepped into the world of Instagram not as a trend follower, but as a woman with a clear message: vitality, elegance, and ambition do not expire. What began as a spontaneous street dance in Munich evolved into a viral movement inspiring hundreds of thousands of women worldwide.

In this conversation with Global Networker, Gina speaks about reinvention, discipline, mindset, and why happiness remains her ultimate superpower.

Your rise on Instagram felt almost explosive. Do you remember the exact moment when you realized your content had gone viral – and what do you think truly resonated with people?

Yes, I remember that moment very clearly. It was January 2024, and I had only been on Instagram for about two months. I was walking through Munich on a freezing cold day and started dancing just to warm up. My videographer encouraged me to keep going, and suddenly we had this spontaneous street moment. I said, “If we turn this into a video, let’s include my age.” People had been constantly asking how old I was. When the video went viral, I immediately understood what resonated: people long for visible joy, vitality, and freedom — especially later in life.

You built a successful career in the fashion industry long before social media existed. What motivated you to become active on Instagram later in life – and how natural or risky did that step feel at the time?

I truly lived my career in the fashion industry. I worked independently on international shoots and later spent 25 years at a major German fashion company, where I was responsible for marketing, merchandising, and PR. We developed one of the first mono-brand retail concepts focused entirely on trousers, which became highly successful. But there were always corporate rules and limitations. After a short personal break, I realized this could not be the end. I still had energy, ideas, and a strong desire to show women that success does not expire with age. Supported by my family, I launched an Instagram Advent calendar in December 2023 — one video every day. It felt natural, not forced.

Many influencers chase trends, but your content feels deeply authentic. Was your online presence a strategic decision, or did it grow organically simply because you were being yourself?

It grew organically because I show up exactly as I am. At the same time, I approached it with a clear business mindset from the beginning. I wanted this project to grow, reach women globally, and make empowerment beyond 50 and 60 more visible. Authenticity and strategy work best together. The perfect moment to start is always now.

With hundreds of thousands of followers today, how do you personally define influence — is it reach, impact, or responsibility?

For me, influence is all three. Reach creates connection. Impact comes from engagement and dialogue. Responsibility begins when people take your words seriously. Everything I share comes from my heart and experience — strategically framed, but always defined by me. Respect, aesthetics, and responsibility are my core values.

Everyone is asking: how can you look so incredible at 60 — and, more importantly, how does this stage of life actually feel?

It feels fantastic — without denying reality. The body changes over time, and learning to work with those changes is essential. A protein-rich diet, regular movement, strength training, skincare, and a strong inner attitude create vitality and confidence.

Which daily habits — physical, emotional, or mental — play the biggest role, beyond genetics, in how you age so confidently and gracefully?

I train five days a week, including strength training, jogging, reformer Pilates, and cardio. My mornings begin calmly, often with tea and time in the garden. My daily cappuGina ritual is sacred: phone off, digital detox.

That means a very special time, and I always share it with my friends and family when they’re coming. I eat protein-rich meals, prioritize sleep, and incorporate sauna sessions, cold exposure, and forest walks to maintain balance.

You often speak about mindset and joy. How much of beauty, in your experience, is psychological rather than physical?

Beauty always begins on the inside. Presence, energy, and authenticity define true beauty far more than perfection. The people we remember are not the most perfect — but the most real.

Having worked behind the scenes in the fashion and media industries, how has your understanding of beauty ideals evolved — and what do you think the industry still gets wrong about age?

The industry is evolving positively. Mature, confident women want representation that reflects their reality. This is no longer a trend but a strategic shift. However, there is still room for growth, especially on social media.

Your motto, “Happiness is my superpower,” is closely associated with you. Has happiness always been a conscious choice for you, or did it evolve over time?

Positivity has always been part of who I am. At the same time, I believe happiness can be learned. Gratitude, faith, and discipline are essential pillars — because happiness also requires commitment.

Social media can be harsh. How do you deal with criticism, ageism, or negative comments — and has your resilience changed over time?

Constructive criticism is welcome and answered. Disrespectful comments are deleted and blocked immediately. Respect is the foundation of any meaningful communication.

You balance fashion, fitness, travel, and digital work effortlessly. What does success look like for you today — and how does it differ from earlier in your life?

Success still means hard work. What has changed is flexibility and visibility. Family is my anchor, and success today is always a team effort.

Finally, looking ahead: what excites you most about the coming years, and what legacy would you like to leave for the women who follow your path today?

I want to keep growing and inspiring women to walk their own path at any age. The perfect moment is now. Be brave, choose happiness, and live consciously.
