From December 3 to December 8, 2024, the Faena Art Project Room will host an outstanding exhibition organized by Massimo Dutti, dedicated to the renowned Serbian artist Marina Abramović. The exhibition, titled “Nomadic Journey and Spirit of Places,” will offer visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Abramović’s over forty-year artistic journey, which includes her drawings, poetry, photographs, and profound reflections.
This event is not merely a display of artworks; it is an invitation to explore the inner world of the artist. The exhibition illustrates how her nomadic life and constant search for inspiration have shaped her unique style and approach to contemporary art. Guests will have the chance to engage with archival materials, poetic works, and reflections that capture her multifaceted experiences and creative path.
As part of the exhibition, a special coffee table book will be released, compiling various elements related to Abramović’s work. The book will feature notes from hotels where the artist has stayed, as well as spatial reflections that emerged during those moments. Each page of the book will be infused with attention to detail, allowing for a deeper understanding of her creative process.
Marina Abramović, known as the “godmother of performance art,” has held a prominent position in the art world for over forty years. Her works explore the interaction between the artist and the audience, and significant projects like «Balkan Baroque» (1997) have garnered her international recognition. Her iconic exhibition «The Artist is Present» at MoMA (2010), where she sat in silence with visitors for over 700 hours, became a true cultural phenomenon.
Massimo Dutti, founded in 1985, has established itself as a leading brand in the fashion industry, offering stylish and high-quality clothing for modern individuals.
