Rixos Group Launches Flagship Hotel in Istanbul
The Rixos Tersane Istanbul has officially opened its doors in Tersane Istanbul, a scenic area located in the Golden Horn, also known as Haliç. The inauguration ceremony was attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The hotel boasts 432 rooms, including 57 luxurious suites with stunning waterfront views.
Fettah Tamince, chairman of the board of Rixos Hotels, shared his thoughts on this eagerly awaited project: “We are breathing new life into the 600-year-old Tersane Istanbul, which represents the rich cultural and industrial heritage of the city but has remained unused for many years. This revitalization is made possible through the vision of our esteemed President Erdoğan and the efforts of our Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, transforming it into a modern living space for Istanbul’s residents.”
“The first phase of the project has been completed with a focus on exemplary conservation. Rixos Tersane Istanbul, located in this historically significant area, is set to redefine urban hospitality and will significantly contribute to the local economy and job creation. This hotel will also play a crucial role in preserving and passing on our deep-rooted cultural heritage to future generations. Every detail of Rixos Tersane Istanbul, from its design to architecture, has been thoughtfully considered. I hope this venture, which is much more than a commercial project to me, will benefit our city and country. I extend my gratitude to President Erdoğan for his unwavering support and presence,” added Tamince.
The new hotel now stands as the flagship property of the Rixos Group, which operates in eight countries across three continents. Drawing inspiration from the historical significance of the 600-year-old dockyard, the hotel features interiors that seamlessly blend elements of history, culture, and art. The Golden Horn has been a symbol of prosperity since the Byzantine era, serving as a vital harbor that established Istanbul as a major trade hub in the Mediterranean and Near East during the Middle Ages. Reflecting its location, Rixos Tersane Istanbul has curated a unique art collection centered on cultural sustainability, showcasing contemporary works by both local and international artists, complemented by a catalog and digital archive.
