Under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the 36th edition of SPORTEL Monaco concluded with its most anticipated highlight — the SPORTEL Awards 2025, held at the Grimaldi Forum.

For three days, the Principality became the capital of sports media and innovation, bringing together leaders from organizations such as LaLiga, Bundesliga International, Fox Sports, and Qualcomm, along with Olympic federations, filmmakers, and technology pioneers.

A Celebration of Excellence in Sports Imagery

The SPORTEL Awards honor the creators who transform sport into emotion — those who turn movement into narrative and competition into culture. Each year, the Podiums d’Or – Golden Podiums celebrate excellence in sports media, rewarding the most compelling images, documentaries, and productions from around the globe.

The 2025 laureates reflected a rare combination of innovation, artistic vision, and human depth.

The Best Slow Motion – Georges Bertellotti Award, supported by the French National Olympic and Sports Committee, was presented to Ilia Malinin: Relatable Awe by Eric Hamilton, Max Rahamin, Ryan Yeager, Eric Girgash, Sam Tydings, and Jack Felling (NBC Sports, USA).

The Best Thematic Documentary, supported by TVMonaco, went to Personal Best by Ady Walter and Amal Doghmi (Videovision Entertainment – Distant Horizon, South Africa).

The Best Report was awarded to Comme tout le monde by Pierre-Étienne Léonard and Mohammed Khouadja (WAA ULTRA and TV5 Monde, France).

The Best Biopic, supported by the Olympic Channel, was given to I’m Carl Lewis! by Julie Anderson and Chris Hay (Noah Media Group for Olympic Channel, United Kingdom).

The Best Docu-Series, supported by Les Barbagiuans de Monaco, went to Welcome to Wrexham by Bryan Rowland, Josh Drisko, and Jeff Luni (NEO Studios and Boardwalk Pictures, United Kingdom).

The Best Advertising – Christian Blachas Award, supported by A.S. Monaco Basket – Roca Team, was presented to La Quête by Sébastien Bovier (CANAL+ France).

The Jury Special Prize was awarded to Laure! Laure! Laure! by Guillaume Priou and Laurie Delhostal (CHENGYU France).

Special Prizes

The Peace and Sport Documentary Prize went to Las Amazonas De Yaxunah by Alfonso Algara (ESPN Deportes, USA).

The Sports Book Prize – Renaud de Laborderie Award, supported by the Monegasque Olympic Committee, was given to Porsche Racing Moments by Rainer W. Schlegelmilch (Switzerland).

Blue Carpet and Meaning

The 2025 edition stood out for its precision and emotion — a reflection of how, in a world saturated with instant highlights, SPORTEL Awards blue carpet celebrates the art behind the frame: the patience, ethics, and creativity that turn athletic movement into memory.

Prince Albert II personally congratulated the winners, reaffirming Monaco’s dedication to promoting sport not only as performance, but as a language of culture and innovation.

In an age when sport is increasingly defined by data and digital reach, the SPORTEL Awards remain a rare reminder that meaning still lies in how stories are told.

By uniting technological advancement with human achievement, Monaco stands out as a hub of sporting excellence but as a curator of its collective memory — where every frame, every victory, and every silence between them continues to matter.
