In an interview with The Spit Bucket Podcast, Matchroom Boxing chairman Eddie Hearn spoke about the partnership between DAZN and TNT Sports, explaining why the agreement could become an important step for the growth of boxing and the promotion of young fighters.

Eddie, what does the agreement between DAZN and TNT Sports mean? What can fans expect?

The biggest advantage for us is the massive audience reach. That is the principal benefit of working with TNT. For our shows and our fighters, it represents a huge opportunity.

We have entered into a multi-year agreement under which a number of our boxing events, in addition to being shown on DAZN, will also be broadcast on TNT Sports. This significantly increases our potential audience.

Why is this so important for Matchroom?

TNT has a much larger television audience. For us as a promotional company, that is a major advantage. The more people who see our fighters, the faster they can become stars.

In September, we have a show featuring Abdullah Mason against Joe Cordina that will be broadcast on TNT. That is fantastic news for everyone involved.

You also commented on Dana White’s remarks about DAZN.

Everything is connected today. DAZN broadcasts the UFC in many countries around the world, including Germany, Canada, and Australia. So when people criticize the platform, it is important to understand just how deeply integrated it is within the global combat sports industry.

DAZN continues to grow and expand its audience, and partnerships like this benefit not only the platform itself but also the athletes.

What does this mean for the fans?

More broadcasts, greater accessibility, and more opportunities to watch promising fighters. Ultimately, it is the fans who benefit the most from agreements like these.
